Castlebar Golf Club Fashion Extravaganza-A Huge Success
The Fashion extravaganza organized by the Ladies Committee of Castlebar Golf Club was held in Breaffy House Hotel on Thursday 31st March. The event was an outstanding success with well over 500 women from all over Connaught in attendance.
The show was organised in association with Catwalk Modeling Agency Galway and showcased the Spring/Summer collections from the following Boutiques.
Annette Gerald, Beverley Hills, Marguerite’s, Sanzio, Jacques Vert at Shaw’s and Vaughan Shoes all from Castlebar and Olivia Danielle (Athlone), Kabuki (Carrick on Shannon), Don’t Call me Dear (Galway), The Whyte House( Westport) and Golf Style (Galway). The award winning Milliner Jennifer Wyrnne( Leitrim) also wowed the audience with her eye catching new collection of headpieces.
The evening was due to start at 7.30pm with a champagne reception but from the moment the doors opened at 6.30pm the crowds started to arrive and it was clear a capacity crowd would be in attendance.
Hair for the models was provided by Bliss, Castlebar and make-up by Jacqueline Smith Makeup Artist and Carolyn McHugh, All About Faces, Ballinrobe which was arranged by Catwalk Modeling agency, Galway.
The Mayo Male Voice Choir directed by Deirdre Lee entertained everyone during the interval and proved very popular with the ladies.
At the end of the evening there was raffle with a wonderful selection of prizes all of which had been generously sponsored.
The Lady Captain Ilish McGing addressed the audience, “Tonight is a wonderful occasion and I am overwhelmed by the number of ladies who are in attendance. I’ve been informed by Catwalk Modeling agency that this was one of the largest Fashion Shows to take place in The West of Ireland in the last 20 years.”
