Castlebar Golf Club was founded in 1910 and the course was designed and built in its current layout by Peter McEvoy and his team. It opened in 2001. The Course has been built to USGA specifications, measuring 6,420 yards, Par 71, with sand based greens and many water features.
With deep bunkers and even deeper water features, a multitude of trees that seem to multiply daily and rough that really lets you know its there, the course requires careful placement of shots if a score is to be compiled. All 18 greens provide a beautiful surface for putting, and though they are undulating the well struck putt will stay true to its line.
All in all the course provides a tough but fair challenge to all golfers.
