With a large membership, most playing, a mix of young and not-so-young, Castlebar Golf Club has a busy schedule of events throughout the year to cater for all types of members

The weekend competitions are for both Men and Ladies, with separate prizes, there is also a junior section in these weekend competitions.

Wednesday is the day that the Ladies host their own competitions, exclusively for ladies.

From April through August each year there is a competition held each Monday night for the Phyxers. The Phyxers are those men whose handicap is 18 or greater. These are usually very well attended.

Also from April through August on Tuesday's there is a 13 hole competition with two prize categories, handicaps 0 to 11 and handicaps 12 to 17.  Men whose handicap is greater than 17 may play in the Tuesday weekly but must play off a 17 handicap for that competition.

With a very active Junior Section, during the summer months there is a specific Junior competition held each Monday.

And the seniors have a weekly competition each Friday morning, with the emphasis being on enjoying the golf, the company and just having the “craic”
