The top-class scoring continued in Round 8 with the teams of Ian Brennan & Seamus Cuffe both scoring 95 points.  Ian's team, comprising Ian Brennan, Michael Fahey, John McHale and sub Tom Moylett were declared Round 8 winners after a count-back.  For the second week running the team of Seamus Cuffe, Pat Doherty, Michael Sheridan & Paddy Burke had to settle for 2nd place.

2011-2012 Winter League - Round 7 - Sunday, February 12, 2012
Round 7 of the 2011-2012 Winter League, sponsored by Cox's Bars & Restaurant, was played over the weekend of Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th February.  As this running of the very popular League approaches the end all teams were out and determined to post a score that would help them qualify for the Grand Final to be played on Sunday 11th March 2012.
Round 7 saw a record team score posted with the team of Eamon Smith, Conor O'Reilly, Pat Waldron & Eugene Caulfield shooting a magnificent 96 points on Saturday morning.  This is an absolutely incredible score and well done to the 4 lads!  Next best in Round 7 was the team of Seamus Cuffe, Pat Doherty, Michael Sheridan & Paddy Burke, their score of 94 would have won on almost any other weekend but this one!  Two teams posted great scores of 91 points, the team of Tony Collins, Tom Moylett, Johan Collins & John McCarty on Saturday and the team of Roger Towey, Paul Kilcourse, Dave McHale & Tony O'Malley on Sunday afternoon.
The results of Round 7 make the picture  a little bit clearer, the table showing that some teams have already qualified while there are others who could yet qualify with a good round 8 score so it is really turning into a very exciting Winter League!
Round 8 is to be played over the weekend of Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th February!
