Castlebar Golf Club is a friendly and welcoming club, with members and visitors alike made feel welcome. The course is open all year round with only the severest of weather impacting on the course. The clubhouse has been recently extended and refurbished to provide top-class facilities. Catering and hospitality in the bar is provided by Joey McDonnell who has many years experience in the hospitality trade and he offers home-cooked meals with friendly personal service at very keen rates.
The club is open for new members as well as for visitors and societies. All in packages are provided for societies, including golf and meal at very competitive rates, giving the opportunity to play a very fine course and then to relax afterwards over some delicious food.
Visitors are always welcome at Castlebar Golf Club. The course is all-weather with only frost causing it to be closed.
Green fee rates are very reasonable - just €20 for an adult up to the end of March and times are almost always available.
Societies and groups are also welcome - contact the club for further information on how we can facilitate your society or group.

There was a 13 Hole V Par Competition for Men played over the weekend of Saturday 30th Nov & Sun 1st Dec. The winner and keeping the Mitchels men in the winning enclosure was Finian Joyce with a great score of 6 up. Finian pipped Tony Mannion into second on a countback with Tony also on 6 up. Rory Courell was third on 5 up.
In the ladies section the Wednesday singles was won by Una Lydon with 33pts. Lady Captain Dolores Towey was 2nd with 29 pts.
The Ladies held a hugely successful Bottle Day over the weekend and the winners with 75 points were Evelyn Duggan, Teresa Mannion, Bernadette Walsh and Martina Kelly.
Second with 72 Points were the team of Ann Gallagher, Bernie Burke, Vena Brett and Ann Melvin and Third with 71 points were Brigid Toher, Nora O’Reilly, Maeve Nevin and Patsy Connor
Round 5 of the Winter League took place over the weekend and was the last chance for teams for teams to qualify for the Grand Final from the November Series.
Mick Byrnes team recorded the best monthly score with a marvellous 84 points.
As Mick’s team have already qualified from October the 4 teams that qualify for the Grand Final from the November Series are : Liam Deasy 84, John McHugh 84, Frank Murray 82, Dom Molloy 82
In the 15 hole Singles competition Ray Prendergast emerged the winner with an excellent 35 points.
In the Ladies Section the Wednesday Singles was won by Breda Fitzmaurice with 25 points with Ilish McGing 2nd on 24 points.
In the Ladies Weekend Singles Teresa Reddington was victorious with a super 28 points defeating Carmel Connaughton into 2nd on a countback who also had 28. Margaret Tighe & Evelen Brady were 3rd and 4th each with 27 points
