Castlebar Golf Club – “The Augusta of Connaught”
Originally founded in 1910, Castlebar Golf Club underwent several transformations, the last being the total redesign to its current layout measuring 6,420 yards with 18 sand based green and tees. The course offers a variety of holes, each with its own unique challenge. Castlebar Golf Club is a friendly and welcoming club, with members and visitors alike made feel welcome.
The course is open all year round with only the severest of weather impacting on the course. Catering and hospitality in the bar is provided by Tom McGinty who has many years experience in the hospitality trade and he offers home cooked meals and friendly personal service at very keen rates.
Castlebar Capture Holmpatrick Cup
Huge congrats to Ian Brennan and Declan Prendergast who won the All Ireland Fourball Holmpatrick Cup yesterday at the Home of Golf St Andrews, Scotland
The lads shot 41 points on the New Course on Monday and followed it up with a superb score of 49 points on the Old Course yesterday with a great finishing birdie by Declan on the iconic 18th Hole.
Castlebar emerged winners with a combined 36 Hole Fourball Betterball total of 90 points beating Nenagh on a count back.
Ian and Declan had qualified by winning the Mick OMalley Fourball earlier in the year and then made it to the Finals in St Andrews coming through the Regional Qualifiers in Bundoran last month
Well done from everyone in the club on a fantastic achievement.

Well to the 66 ladies who played yesterday (10th September) in extremely testing weather conditions made little of by our winner Una Lydon who played in the morning and Ilish McGing in 2nd place who played in the last group out in the afternoon. Congratulations Una, a worthy and popular winner. Congratulations also to our Lady President Ann McGovern for the great day, wonderful atmosphere in the clubhouse and a fantastic table of prizes.
